Double Horizon

Double Horizon
St. Nazairre, France, 2011

Collaborative work made for a site-specific art festival in the small harbour town, St. Nazairre. The town is known for it's massive industry which among others includes ship construction. The current situation in St. Nazairre is that the labour have decreased 90 % within 5 years, due to the financial crisis and the economical advantages of producing in asia. This situation leaves the town almost empty of people and cultural possibilities.

Double Horizon
A wall construction blocks the view on a small beach. The surface of the construction reflects light and colors of the surroundings – the changing tide and sky, thereby changing appearance hour by hour. The work removes a part of the total image, but at the same time proposing another kind of horizon.
